5.3 Mag Earthquake North of Puerto Rico
[link to earthquake.usgs.gov]

Just been getting a lot of texts from my family saying that these seem to be intensifying in the last few months.

It's normal for them to have "tremors", but the area has been registering 5.0's lately.

Article about the Puerto Rico trench.

It's a "heavy activity" area, where 4.0 and 5.0 is the norm, but anything over 7.0 and the word "tsunami" gets uttered, much like the one in 1918 that killed about 70 people.
Everyone dies, but not everyone lives.

Sat through a few when I lived there years ago, but 5.3 is a little high.

Still, it's that kind of area.

Yep, I felt the "tremors" all the time. It's kinda normal. You pretty much feel one about every week. It's not unusual to hear about a 3.0 and the talk about "my bed moved", but 5.3 is a little high for that area.

WTF is going on down there?
That's quite a lot of movement lately.

I don't think this is THAT normal.

I'm totally hoping this doesn't indicate anything but there was a 5.0 13 or so hours before this 5.3 that's on the same map but apparently closer to St kitts:

The one by St Kitts is pretty deep, may have an impact on the Soufrière Hills Volcano on Montserrat.

Complicated world.

There was a LOT more than the ones I posted, I just didn't have the time to post them while I was at home, but in the last few months, there has been a LOT of activity in that area.

It's always normal to feel a little movement down in that area, but Mag 3's and over at a constant... I want to look more into that.

Yep, everyone on the island knows about the Trench and the shakes and EVERYONE knows someone who has a family member who went through the tsunami of 1918. That wave came in a few miles in and despite what everyone says about them trying to be prepare, I'll assure you right now, none of those islands are REALLY prepared for another tsunami.
Everyone dies, but not everyone lives.

Wikipedia is cool sometimes. I start out looking for something, and end up clicking link after link. Pretty soon, I don't even remember what it is I started out looking for.

So then I just come back here.

If he lives near the Northwestern side of the island, he probably felt it more than the rest of it. That's the hot spot for earthquake activity. The epicenters are almost always directly north of that area.

Re: 5.3 Mag Earthquake North of Puerto Rico
I predicted thoose for day 13 to 17 this month ...

17 & 18 were not far away , but still the 7.8 one awaits 38 miles north of san juan at 30 miles depth....

other areas for peril el faro punta este cabo rojo can put a 9.8 one ....

arecibo city coast 8.9

and pozo de la virgen sabana grande & north of Yauco city
say a 9.2 .... this quakes will form a pattern that will exibit it as act of "GOD" not human or natural making.
