Honestly MOTHER MARY, you need to stop. SO what are you exactly suggesting is happening? Do you have any idea what would happen if their was a shift in the moon or the earth? It would be total upheaval! Yet somehow you think some has drastically changed by if some magic. Just stop already with the arguing. Some posters provided you with data and source and yet your still harping away with nonsense.

If I can offer any advice is to join an astronomy club...get involved, TRULY involved then you'll learn something, and maybe then you can come here and explain to those that do not understand as right now you are one of them...

The Moon is "wrong." The Powers-That-Be are hiding it. Paid debunkers are out in force, government websites have fantasy explanations...

But "Google Sky" and "My First Planetarium" and "A Page About The Moon For Kids and Astrologers" all have the absolute correct position where where the Moon is supposed to be.

What, they didn't get the memo? The all-powerful government conspiracy can't censor a couple of websites?

I sincerely suggested an alternative for you because it seemed you have passion for the subject of astronomy but you just don't understand it. I suppose it is much easier to just stick your head in the sand then it is to put effort into learning something that does take patience and comprehension. What is happening to the earth right now is called nature. If the moon moved out of orbit or if the earth tilted somehow to give a distorted view of the moon, the disasters that would occur would be a lot more then what you have suggested.

Stuff like this really scares me. There have been a few memes going around the net like this one. I wonder what is really going on with Society when I see stuff like this.

So EVERY single Astronomer and Amateur Astronomer is in on the Conspiracy then ehh? Bullocks!! I am not, and nor the local Astronomy Club that I attend. Which is made up mostly of high school kids. Why not learn more, and expound less on the subject?

Indeed you are correct i and take pictures and 2 minutes video the moon phase and shape should not be like this here on north brazil. I have a very exspensive galaxy planet/earth calculator software program and the lady is right the moon or earth is not in sync. .

Think about it, the lit side of the moon is the side that is facing the sun. Think about where the sun is, then think about what side of the moon should be lit.

Which is of course, why a lot of us here on GLP have never seen this before, right? I swear I spent a lot of time camping and such and the moon always did it's phases vertically. I have the same request that someone else had...If this has been happening forever because it HAS to happen then it would be really easy for someone to post pictures of the moon in the past doing what it is doing now. Someone specified any picture of the moon before 1990.

Amazing how we have been on earth for this long and only right NOW are people trying to explain this to us. I am sure if we noticed it last year or the year before there would be a ton of posts asking and the question being answered. I Google'd horizontal moon and posts on GLP and I can't find a single post about this last year. Or the year before. Like it just started happening and now that people are getting wise to it others are trying to say that it is normal. Kinda like the birds committed mass suicide, right?

So in other words you didn't bother to even look up field rotation or think about why it not only happens all the time but has to.

Think about it. When the Moon rises, you are looking East. When high in the sky you are looking South (assuming you are in the northern hemispheres). When it sets you are looking West. Your perspective changes because you are looking different directions. This HAS happened before. Look up "wet Moon". Hawaiian mythology describes it as did Shakespeare. Early enough for you?
