You people have been stocking up your stuff for years. For what? Your need for it has never manifested itself, and in the rare occurence it ever would, it's useless. We are all eventually going to die, and big deal, you get to live a couple more days on your canned beans. Look at your list. Entertainment, are you serious? Who and what the hell are you entertaining? If you end up in a mess like your stocking up for, you got more problems than entertaining. You need to snap out of the delusion planted in your wandering mind. You stocktards are out of touch, no wonder none of you have jobs. Good for you! We have a volunteer because someone has to stand on the bridge begging for help and hoping that FEMA will come by and save them! Makes for good tv! Smile for the camera and say: "Please please come and save me!" Later grasshopper! So clueless. WORST case scenario....absolute worst....need to survive 7 years. (Anything more than that and it means the planet is UBER-DEAD anyway and unless you have something or someone to live for....well....tough slog at that point.) Most likely though....you need to survive 2-3 years without useful sunlight. Things won't grow well until the atmosphere clears. ...OR the damage from a SUN made EMP can be repaired. Those such as "AC1240958" will be the first to perish...and it could have been prevented with some planning. BUT....people like "AC1240958" are what will keep the rest of the people alive. They provide resources to others with their deaths. Last Edited by Useless Cookie Eater on 01/25/2011 11:40 AM |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 1210521 United Kingdom 01/25/2011 03:56 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Well... to be a bit boring. The only bugging out i will be doing is in case of flood (and only then at the very worst) Most of my preps are stored at ground level with a week or so on the upper floor. I dont have anywhere to bug out to and neither will most of my inner city neighbours. I decided years ago I CAN NOT PREP FOR EVERYTHING. I do prep to STAY AHEAD OF THE HERD. When you have run out of prep space, start storing KNOWLEDGE. The offer to share THAT may also save your life. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 1242673 Germany 01/25/2011 04:11 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I just purchased detailed topo maps in a 500 km radius from my house. Elevation, caves(train tunnels) and natural water sources will be critical. For all the Pessimismturds: Preparedness is like a gun. Better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it. Besides, I like beans and rice... |

The maps i have in the UK are from the ordnance survey and are of 4cm to 1km. small enough to show individual houses. I have just completed a walk round all the public right of ways just to reccy the area. I would be interested to hear more about your maps etc. |

I have located highest elevation within 10 minute drive with natural springs. Problem is hard natural shelter. However, there are two nearby train tunnels. |

I was quite surprised at finding areas within a kilometer or so that were virtually forgotten. Not giving too much away lol. One of the best routes in my situation seems to be along canal banks and tunnels.Even in a densley populated area they seem to be little used. |

If you network with people and do this as a community - with a long range plan - you will have MUCH better chances. This lone wolf attitude will put even other people like you at each other's throats. |

Agreed, there are good places if you know how to look. However, I agree with others on the thread as well on other topics. My house is where I will stay for as long as possible...trying to finish securing the perimiter by summer and my elevation should be safe from most all flooding. The Topo's are for last ditch survival. Also agree with the post after yours regarding community. We are developing a network of friends and neighbors, all with different stocks to be shared. |
