anybody connect the "dangerous substance" found in the coventry home to that of the dugway vx vile? The FBI has yet to announce what the suspected substance was...only that if it was what they thought it was, it would be very dangerous to humans

Looks like the story broke 1/26/11 and if the new owners found the cannister it's probably been there awhile. Not likely connected to the missing VX gas from Dugway.
But who knows.

report with video:
[link to www.fox8.com]

Ownership of the property had recently changed, and the new owner discovered a canister with the material inside. Local authorities were notified, and the substance was recognized as potentially lethal. Local authorities were notified. They recognized the substance as a potentially lethal material and immediately contacted the FBI.

Special FBI hazardous materials teams were brought in from Quantico, Va., and Pittsburgh to assist with the investigation.

here's what I'm thinking...dugway had no clue the stuff was missing until it showed up in someone's fridge. FBI then contacts all mil. installations that keep the stuff laying around (I'm sure dugway isn't the only one) and sure enough..Dugway is a little short. Just my theory, since I live close to Coventry township. They suggested it may be ricin but as of today, have yet to positively identify what it is.

Geez, I started the thread and I didn't even connect the dots....or the possible dots.

That post above was from me, I don't know why it posted under anonymous coward. Anyway, the only flaw in my theory would be the lockdown...what would be the purpose if they already knew where the vx was. Unless it was to snag the person they suspected of taking it. This theory actually scares me though because who knows how long it could have been missing which means they didn't keep a real good eye on the stuff.

From the comments section of this article

Kevin
i live not even a block from where this happened, the action news 19 helicopter was hovering directly over my house all day. but i walked down near the house, and overheard one of the sheriffs say that it was Ricin. which is a very toxic chemical that has effect similar to Anthrax, but with smaller doses. this is starting to scare me especially since just yesterday(day before this incident) there was a bomb threat at Stark State College, and i was in class. alot of weird threats going around.

Each time a person stands for an ideal, or acts to improve the lot of others, or strikes out against injustice, he or she sends forth a tiny ripple of hope. And crossing each other from a million different centers of energy and daring, those ripples build a current that can sweep down the mightiest walls of oppression and resistance. Few are willing to embrace the disapproval of their fellows, the censure of their colleagues, the wrath of their society. Moral courage is a rarer commodity than bravery in battle or great intelligence. Yet it is the one essential vital quality for those who seek to change a world that yields most painfully to change. Wow even more of a reason for me to get the hell out of this blighted area. A lot of strange stuff has been going on around here in the last couple of months.

well, it was our theory for a little while! Still find it odd they found it on Monday and are only confirming today what it is.
