Booby traps, tiger pits, "natural spears", acid baths, electrification methods, explosives, trained exotic animals, targeting teams...just to name a few.
Yes think ahead.

I would talk to your neighbors (the ones you can trust) to see if they are up for it if the time comes. You don't need to let them know about any of your preps.

Also, look at your house / property from a criminals perspective. If you were the criminal, how would you gain entry ? Then work from there. Remember, most criminals and thugs are lazy and go for the easy target.

Out in the country on 30 acres of my own land. Have neighbors all around. Some armed, some not. Have enough arms to arm them and myself . However, talking to people ahead of time gets you investigated. I'll keep my trap shut until the time comes.

Most of my neighbors are equally armed, as recent "Potential Home Invaders Realized"

We all watch each others houses 24/7, yep somebody is always up from 12:00 midnight to 06:00 am. we all have diferent schedule's and all have Dogs ;-)
