after Hurricane Katrina there was NO phone service of any kind, not home phones, nor cell phones. I am still stumped about this but it is a fact. Even the local police could not communicate to each other, something weird was afoot then, I still think that whole thing was a test
Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1243271I hear this from a lot of Americans. Whatever it was I think Hurricane Katrina shows us that we need to be prepared. Im on Janeys Egyptian protest thread and what it shows me is that us people can be so resourseful and community does exist even when it doesnt appear so. Having internet and phone access during crisis is so important and I hope that we can live and learn from Hurricane Katrina and Egypt.
