Happy?... New Year... of The Rabbit.
By Nancy Lai

KOTA KINABALU: The Year of Rabbit is not going to bring us better weather.

Expect major climatic disasters to continue in 2011 because there are two missing elements in the Year of the Rabbit – water and earth, according to renowned fengshui expert Lilian Too.

But, according to her, not all is lost. There is also personal wealth to be made in 2011 as almost all the animal signs in the astrological chart have excellent prospects for making big money this year.

Elaborating on the climatic changes, Too said: “Last year – the Tiger Year – the water element was completely missing in the Paht Chee chart

“This does not mean that water is non-existent; it means that it has gone elsewhere, and hence when it manifests itself… it comes in a large and wrathful form.

“Looking back, we see that 2010 (which did not have any water) suffered some of the worst floods ever – for example, the terrible flood in Pakistan which destroyed the homes of more than 20,000 people and more recently in Queensland.

“In the colder parts of the world, the displacement of water manifested in the form of snow and hail storms.

“This year, I’m afraid that the chart for 2011 is also severely lacking in water. Not only water, but earth is also short in supply.

“With these two vital elements missing, I fear that this year we will continue to suffer major climatic disasters

Lunar New Year highlights China labour issues

Among the millions crowding China's railways stations and airports in the annual Lunar New Year trek home are many workers who won't be coming back to their jobs in the workshop of the world.
