THE NEW MOON - if EARTH revolves around SUN and MOON around EARTH, at some point the MOON would pass in front of the SUN.

Seems like you think a solar eclipse could be seen everywhere on earth but that's wrong. The so called "umbra" is a shadow circle with some 100 miles diameter, only there you can see the eclipse. More info here: [ link to en.wikipedia.org] Oh, of course it is. What was I thinking? Seeing the solar-eclipse when I have that same SUN in my skies. Well that's just silly! How could I ever see a rock (MOON) the size of the sun passing in front of the sun? Silly me.
