There Can Be Only One: Free Bird VS Stairway

Two of the most overplayed songs on the radio.

I hate to have to choose between these two. If you don't walk away having voted for "Stairway", then you grew up in a different world then I did.

Stairway, most definitely!

Being an old fart, I had the honor of seeing both of these bands, lets say in the far away past.

I must say that FreeBird gets my vote only cuz Zepplin, when I saw em live sucked that night.

Both the best my generation had to offer, which kinda leads to another great band, The WHO

I choose neither. Both pale in comparison to this:

FREEBIRD!!!!!!!!!!!!! FREEBIRD RULES!!!!!!!! Stariway is good, but it ain't no Freebird. For a live concert Freebird would kick Stairway right off the stage. Freebird just speaks to the average person more than stairway to heaven does.
If it hadn't been for Skynyrd plane crash of 1977, we'd be having to choose which Skynyrd song was the best classic rock song of all time!

I would agree

Skynyrd is a great band but
does NOT hold a candle to the amazing Zeppelin

Skynyrd album sales = approx 23 million
Zeppelin album sales = approx 84 million
