Lovely traditional children's song I remember from Germany later used in opening scene from Cross of Iron Has nothing to do with war.The song is very nice but I think Ernest Gold who composed for Cross of Iron thought it would add flair.

Adolf Hitler tried to replace god, not teach by him. He used occult practices in place of Christian doctrine. The Nazis tried to rid Germany of all other religions so they could put in place The Blood Religion. Based on occult, pagan, and even some hindu practices.

Reminds me of a little song we were forced to sing here as kids (and adults before sporting events). You might've heard of it. It's called the Star Spangled Banner. They even use the "Nazi" word "hail" in it: "Oh how proudly we HAIL..." I think all countries have this. It's called nationalist indoctrination.
