Gas Explosions-Could the gov. be hiding something?

In my personal opinion I think it's a lil of both. The lines have to be at least 80 years old in those old states. With no money from the governemt they must have been put on the back burner.
With the recent earth's activity. I would have to link them all together. What about, the birds and fish dying is that because some unknown gas is being release..(I think I might be getting off subject.) I'm not a scientist so...I don't really know...:)
