Candy, yes. Alcohol, no. Don't want the kind of crowd that needs alcohol.

I have had a neighbor walk to my home in a rain storm because she 'needed' a ciggarrette and couldn't get to the store. She would be a great candidate for trading a cut of venison or string of fish for a pack of ciggarrettes later when TSHTF. Fair for both of us. Edit for fat-fingerness Salt and Sugar!!!! I would say that SUGAR will be worth it's weight in gold. You can do so much with sugar... including making your own alcohol. So, in a sense... sugar is alcohol. Water!! Supplies are useless without potable water. Even though we have a well we are also stocking bottled water from it (close to a three-month supply for drinking so far) and will be purchasing a hand-pump for getting the water if TSHF and the electrical mains are out.
