Wow I thought something was up with the magnetosphere. It has a hole in it? I've been watching that simulation for weeks and some days it looks really twisted. I know some people say it is just a simulation. But it is a simulation based on the data that is coming in. It doesn't just throw out a random picture for our amusement. It has real data backing it, and yeah, some days it looks awful.

I never saw this particular video. And if it has been circulating all this time then it should be pinned all this time. This way all who come into this site can see and prepare. I thought the sun's solar maximum was delayed for a few years beyond 2012 like to 2013 or 2014. There was a cometary encounter which discharged the sun's solar capacitor which in turn has delayed the maximum. Of course if a new body has already punched through the sun's outer anode and is headed into our solar system, that changes everything.
