The tremendous disparity in wealth between the richest 1% of Americans and the lowest 70-75% has been growing by leaps and bounds over the past 25 years.
Until the primary dilemma of fully two thirds of all Americans simply not having enough income to meet the ever increasing costs of living is addressed, all other political debates are a charade. Most workers get a small yearly raise, if they get one at all. Meanwhile, top executives continue to award themselves six and seven figure bonuses, on top of their obscene salaries. Needless to say, none of them are affected by increases in gas prices, or food prices, health care or housing.
The vast majority of Americans simply cannot keep pace with this irrational, trickle-down predatory system that bloated plutocrats have instituted and profited handsomely from. Their paltry raises (when they get one) don't even match the yearly increas in their health insurance costs (again, assuming they have coverage).
We need another Huey Long. We need a year of Jubilee. |
