Unlike a lot of the people who are responding on this thread, I know your exact situation. I too am only 5'3 and I'm 22 and for most of my life I went through the same situations that you were talking about. Granted, I have been dating someone for the past year and a half, but she is the first person in my life that I dated for longer than 3 months. She is beautiful, although she does look younger, but she is very mature so it evens out. You can just tell when you see these women that they feel they're better than you because of your height and won't even consider the thought of being with you. My advice to you is fuck them and I don't mean sleep with them, but forget about them. The vast majority of women you're talking about are more trouble than they're worth. If you want a long term relationship with someone and have it actually have meaning, then I would suggest getting out of the bar scene. I have met very few people in my day who met their soul mate, while both were drowning themselves in alcohol. If you really want to meet someone worthwhile, find something that you greatly enjoy and try to find others who share that interest. It sounds very cliche I know, but it does work. Also, don't look for a girlfriend. Because when you do, you try to force feelings on people and that causes it to not work. You can put yourself out there, sure, but actually going out and seeking someone to date is where I think a lot of people have problems. Just don't let your height bother you and have confidence in yourself even if you're not as tall as the other people. It will show if you have confidence or not, and women do pick up on it. I had a lot of problems with it as a kid, but I'm slowly starting to get better with it. You're not alone though.

OP, your biggest problem isn't your height. Your problem is your own attitude towards your height. You're fixated on how people perceive you, and it's fair to say you have a massive chip on your shoulder, which girls of any height can pick up on, and it's really unattractive to all women. Some short guys and ugly guys can make up for certain deficiencies, through having wit and humour, but from your posts, you are way too serious and don't seem like a person that can laugh at yourself. Also, you seem to be very superficial and obssessed with looks, both yours and girls you like.

Being 6'4", I guess I have to admit that being taller does make it easier to date any woman. I think this is mostly due to me having a lot of confidence in talking to women, and not worrying about how I look. But even then, you still have to make a lot of effort to charm and woo a lady to like you (yes, I said woo ).

OP needs to drop his Napoleon complex and sort his anger issues out. Stop treating women like sex objects, and talk to them like any human being. You seem to think that initial looks are the only thing a woman can find attractive about you. There are many ways to a woman's heart!

I dated a guy who was 5'4, I'm only 5'2. He turned out to be a total control freak so I dumped his ass. Never again will I date a guy that short again, it's like they try overcompensating for their height by being complete assholes.

I'll be honest with you. I'm a tall woman and I would date a short man with character and confidence like Michael J. Fox but most short guys I know are insecure, and wish to punish or resent any woman taller than them who ever goes on a date with them and doesn't want to marry them and have their babies. Basically that's been my experience. I don't exist to balance out your short genes and give you a fighting chance to produce tall offspring, and trust me, I KNOW when a guy is looking for a tall offspring-producing baby factory and the ones I dated were. I want a man who is accepting of himself and does not constantly employ self-deprecating humor to overcompensate for his poor self-esteem. Love yourself and focus on your inner beauty, do not be desperate, which you clearly are, and stop being so damned superficial yourself, and maybe you have a chance. The way you went on and on about some girl's ass in shorts in a river as if it were a life-altering event for you, well no wonder you are such a mess. As a woman, I do not get hung up on some hot male body I once saw and demand I be entitled to such a body regardless of my own appearance or personality. You are so lost, you are not even CLOSE to having a healthy relationship with a woman, short or tall. Seek help, you need to love yourself first and stop your entitlement and victim mentality.

1. Being very short is a disadvantage. But Hillcrest overstates it. Physical attributes are less important for a man than a woman in the dating scene.

2. Get older, get some money and these will attract women to you. Men and their dating results improve with age. But it actually sounds like you're doing OK now. Heck these girls Andrea and Erika seem to be trying to get your attention all the time, even competing with each other ...

3. You don't want a girl who looks young!? Women are obsessed with looking young, eventually men are obsessed with having a young looking (and preferably tight, but you want kids too) woman. "Young in the face" is good!!

Don't sweat it. Don't focus too much on the women, and they'll come to you. Get to know them, find out what they have to offer and enjoy it!
