Stock Market: what's propping it up
Okay, tension in the middle east, oil going up, riots, government overthrows, protesting boiling in USA, record bankruptcies, foreclosures,....the pot is boiling....

Gas prices on the rise, threats of war, worldwide natural disasters disrupting food supplies, highest cost of raw commodities ever, inflation beginning to creep up.....

And the stock market goes up or only drops a nominal amount...

Seriously, where is the money coming from to prop the markets up? i dont know much about the market....

can anyone explain?

Re: Stock Market: what's propping it up
yes. several reasons.

The market is driven mostly by charts. The charts tell them there's still room up to the "old highs". WS doesn't pay attention to news, once the charts are firmly in control.

Secondly, your bailouts are funding it.

Thirdly, WS can borrow money for nothing an gamble in the market. Your government has already given them the green light to take as much risk as they want without consequences.

Fourth, they're sucking in all the dumb money and they can't give it up just yet.

Fifth, propping up the markets makes it look like everything is ok to the sheep

Re: Stock Market: what's propping it up
does the government actually have billions in funds in an account somewhere that they funnel into the market through hedge funds or something else to prop it up?

seems like nows the time to cash in, but there is no massive sell off....

seems like something is artificially propping it up....

oh, and not to mention the reality that the US Dollar is being dumped as the world currency....is it all lies or is there something else?
