AT 947 PM CST...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED A
SEVERE THUNDERSTORM CAPABLE OF PRODUCING A TORNADO. THIS DANGEROUS
STORM WAS LOCATED NEAR BELLE MEADE...OR 7 MILES SOUTHWEST OF
NASHVILLE...MOVING NORTHEAST AT 60 MPH. THE STORM WILL MOVE THROUGH
DOWNTOWN NASHVILLE IN THE NEXT FEW MINUTES.

LOCATIONS IMPACTED INCLUDE...
DOWNTOWN NASHVILLE...LAKEWOOD...GOODLETTSVILLE AND BERRY HILL.

A tornado hit the Hickory Hallow Mall area 15 minutes ago according to the news

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Tornado watches and warnings were issued Thursday evening for a handful of Tennessee and Kentucky counties, with winds reported moving east at 40 mph. Tornado warnings were issued for Clay, Jackson, Macon and northeastern Trousdale counties until 11 p.m. Warnings were issued for Clay, Fentress, Jackson, Macon, Overton, Pickett, Smith and east-central Trousdale until 11:15 p.m.

The Nashville Electric Service tweeted Thursday evening that there were 24,500 customers without power.

A strong low-pressure system moved across Middle Tennessee on Thursday, producing heavy rainfall and a chance of severe weather across the region.

Storm spotter Lisa Blanchard of Franklin said she spotted a tornado near Lewisburg Pike and Mack Hatcher Parkway. She saw small debris, such as branches, and a lot of rain and wind.

A tornado was also sighted near Hickory Hollow Mall in the Antioch area at about 10 p.m.

Amanda Sluss of Davidson County's Office of Emergency Management said she's received reports of trees and power lines down, primarily in East Nashville and Bordeaux, as well as south of Nashville. No injuries were reported.

"The real fast and quick amount of rainfall we're getting can quickly cover a roadway, and you won't be able to see it," Sluss said.

Strong, damaging wind gusts are the main threat. Those under a tornado warning should move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building, avoiding windows. If in a mobile home, a vehicle or outdoors, move to the closest substantial shelter and protect yourself from flying debris.

A tree was reported on a house in Harmon Springs, which is in Dickson.

Interstate 40 westbound was blocked Thursday night in Dickson. Police weren't letting drivers on the westbound part of the interstate.

A tree was reported down on a house in Indian Lake in Sumner County.

In Clarksville, about 10 telephone poles were down Thursday night on Princeton Road. Wire was stretched across the road in one case.

Electricity was out in Montgomery County and in some parts of Clarksville with trees and power lines down. Residents of the Dotsonville community had their roof blown off, but no one was injured.

Folks, If you live in the southeast, keep an eye on the weather Sunday and Monday
I spend more time on the weather boards than I do here.

The guys "in the know" have been talking about the next severe weather outbreak for over a week.

All of the weather mods agree,and the dynamics are as someone put it "off the chart"

Where tonight's system produced a lot of straight line wind in TN and AK (one Supercell did form in KY) The conditions are right for the Sunday/Monday system to produce long track supercells over a large area. Storm Prediction Center (great weather site by the way) has already posted a 4 day notice on this.

Anything happen near Murfreesboro? My son lives there was planning a couple of years ago to move near him I like Murfreesboro area but the last several years it's like tornado ally!!!
