Hopefully geoeffective enlil updates to show this soon. It's currently in ambient mode. There was a slightly geoeffective cme showing on the enlil cygnet for a while but a newer one overrode it. :) I'm pretty sure I saw that on there earlier - Was that the one that appeared to get caught up in the High Speed Stream? |

Uh-oh! Thanks, Cesium, for bring it to our attention. I didn't know. Was that from the M-flare or thereabouts? Strange they would expect Disturbance Duration of 11 hours. I'll check the CACTus Diagnostics...... It may be this one here- [link to www.sidc.oma.be] It's super-slow, hence long duration of disturbance I suppose. |

Sometimes there's a dozen CMEs recorded; but most are tiny and go unnoticed. We only watch out for large to humongous ones; though some little ones do sneak in occasionally and send a ripple thru the magnetic fields. I may be totally off-track on this one. They issued that prediction late on the 30th, but I was seeing CMEs from the 29th. Didn't see any haloes on the 30th, but the M-flare was early on the 30th. So let me look again.... Not much really, just that smoke-ring looking CME in the southeast which didn't look Earth-directed to me. The white lines seem to be showing an expanding plasma cloud and 3o'clock is generally in Earth's direction. Unfortunately, the STEREO data gaps are really bad (also why some folks missed that other Big CME), but it's possible that ring kept expanding. After piddling around with the STEREO HI 1 images, I tend to agree with you that the incoming one is from the partial halo-west limb flare. Either way, I would guess a glancing blow and barely a gust of SW. |
