We have new Sunspots numbered....The spot which rotated into view at the southeast limb on January 11 gets numbered as Region 1397. Today a new spot closly to the south of region 1395 emerged and gets also numbered: as region 1398. And we have a new unnumbered one which is rotating in on the southeast limb.

Solar activity was nearly quiet. We had some c flares from the region which is just behind the east limb (which caused the long duration c flare). And also one b flare from a spot which is rotating in.

Take a look at the sun through one of the glp solar scopes.

A couple of minutes ago you could get a really good idea of how far this massive prominence stretches out into the corona of of the SW limb.

I count at least 9 active regions on the earth-facing disk now, although only 5 have NOAA numbers. Two new regions are visible on the NE limb, the northern-most appearing quite large. Also, a smaller spot has come over the SE limb. Looks like activity will be more intense this week.

there could be considering the quakes were all very shallow
i would disagree with the distance of 50km
if it was only 1 quake, then maybe yes
but with what we see, it would be way to hard to tell the distance of travel of any tsunami
im keeping a close eye on the buoys we do have and for any reports coming in from south america

Re: SOLAR WATCH * Huge X8.2 Flare Sept. 10, 2017! (Updated Daily)
...

there could be considering the quakes were all very shallow
i would disagree with the distance of 50km
if it was only 1 quake, then maybe yes
but with what we see, it would be way to hard to tell the distance of travel of any tsunami
im keeping a close eye on the buoys we do have and for any reports coming in from south america

Any idea what this might be?

i believe its from the CH winds
we have had a large coronal hole in a earth facing possition
solarweather said the winds should reach us on the 16th-17th

i will have to dig a bit deeper to see if this is the CH winds arriving, or something else

Makes sense, Thanks Nin.

Namaste.

I am trying to keep track of these signals for any further >6 mag quakes. Gabe posted they will possibly be traveling further up North all the way to North America.

well, as you know, the larger coronal holes have had a large link to larger quake activity
anytime they are earth facing, it's high alert quake watch time
and because of this, it is very important to remember that the effects of this coronal hole are just now arriving, and will remain for the next 4-5 days

So we need to be wary for those days in the mean time.
