[link to ccmc.gsfc.nasa.gov] INFO FROM SIDC - RWC BELGIUM 08 Jun 2012, 1053UT Thirteen C-class flares were detected during the past 24 hours. NOAA AR 1499 (Catania sunspot groups 64 and 74) produced the strongest of them, the C9.1 flare peaking at 15:43 UT on June 7. The C7.7 flare peaking at 03:07 UT today, from the Catania sunspot group 63 (NOAA AR 1494) was accompanied with the coronal dimming and southward directed CME first observed in the SOHO/LASCO C2 field of view at 04:17 UT. We expect more flaring activity at the C-class level, in particular from the NOAA AR 1499, and possibly also M-class flares. The influence of the fast speed stream, due to recurrent coronal hole is ceasing. The solar wind speed is about 580 km/s and slowly decreasing, and the interplanetary magnetic field magnitude is about 5 nT. The last interval of the elevated value of local K index Dourbes (K=4) was reported on late June 6. We expect quiet geomagnetic conditions in the following hours and possibly active conditions on June 10 due to the arrival of the CME-driven shock wave associated with the partial-halo CME from June 6... Just a hunch, so I clicked on my own link and it came up "FORBIDDEN". When I click the link from my desktop it goes right to the HAARP Induction Magnetometer's current graph. Weird-pretty soon (with help from DARPA & Googull) we'll be stopped from linking anything here. Technology giveth freedom and technology taketh freedom away. Anyway, just go to duck-duck-go or ixquick and search for the HAARP homepage (@alaska.edu) and find the Induction Magnetometer. I'm really starting to think they're hiding something-as if we didn't suspect that all along, LOL. I don't know if GLP is a select target or if all linking is somehow re-directed to FORBIDDEN. But these links have always worked in the past, so this is something new. This is our cue to be thrice as vigilant in surveilling HAARP activities. |
Hugh M Eye User ID: 15388345 United States 06/09/2012 06:31 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | UK TO LOSE TWO BIG TELESCOPES. Formerly-Great Britain is set to abandon two major astronomical telescopes on Mauna Kea due to lack of funding. I guess the Queen doesn't own Hawaii yet. One is the James Clerk Maxwell telescope, the largest sub-millimeter microwave bandwidth telescope in the world. The other is the second-largest infrared telescope in the world. (If I win the Mega-millions lotto I think I'll buy one of 'em). Faced with too many telescopes and too little funding, U.K. officials have decided to close the country's two observatories atop Mauna Kea in Hawaii. Today officials at the United Kingdom's Science and Technology Facilities Council announced their decision to stop funding two of the oldest observatories atop Mauna Kea in Hawaii. Unless some other organization takes over their operation, the United Kingdom Infrared Telescope (UKIRT) will cease operations in September 2013 and the James Clerk Maxwell Telescope will close a year later. (snip) (snip)The STFC's decision spares the three telescopes of the Isaac Newton Group on La Palma. But UKIRT and JCMT on Mauna Kea's summit, along with the Joint Astronomy Centre in Hilo that manages them, didn't make the cut. They will either be transferred to alternate operators or decommissioned once their existing observation projects end. (snip) [link to www.skyandtelescope.com] HOW ABOUT A GLP FUNDRAISER? SURPRISE! NASA GAINS TWO NEW HUBBLE-TYPE SPACE TELESCOPES FROM NRO SPY AGENCY- NASA will be getting two unused space surveillance satellites from the US’s National Reconnaissance Office, which could possibly be used to search for dark energy. In articles in the Washington Post and the New York Times, NASA and NRO officials revealed the two unused and not-fully-built satellites are available for NASA to use as they see fit. While the satellites don’t have astronomical instruments and are still in a warehouse, they do have 2.4-meter (7.9 feet) mirrors, just like Hubble, with a wider field of view and a maneuverable secondary mirror that makes it possible to obtain better-focused images. Read more: [link to www.universetoday.com] and more here: [link to www.skyandtelescope.com] and here: [link to www.washingtonpost.com] I'm still not sure what to make of this disturbing little news item....any thoughts? |

One guess would be rising magma? According to this theory, the sun is creating magma "tides" bringing heated magma closer to ground water, then heating it enough to create low level steam in the atmosphere. As the steam interacts with the cooler upper atmosphere, it creates storms. I give him credit ... it takes a patience and eye for detail I just couldn't ever accomplish. |

However, the M-flare produced a 10cm radio burst which was detected at Earth. Space Weather Message Code: SUM10R Serial Number: 542 Issue Time: 2012 Jun 09 1144 UTC SUMMARY: 10cm Radio Burst Begin Time: 2012 Jun 09 1130 UTC Maximum Time: 2012 Jun 09 1130 UTC End Time: 2012 Jun 09 1132 UTC Duration: 2 minutes Peak Flux: 150 sfu Latest Penticton Noon Flux: 124 sfu Description: A 10cm radio burst indicates that the electromagnetic burst associated with a solar flare at the 10cm wavelength was double or greater than the initial 10cm radio background. This can be indicative of significant radio noise in association with a solar flare. This noise is generally short-lived but can cause interference for sensitive receivers including radar, GPS, and satellite communications. [link to www.swpc.noaa.gov] |
