SOLAR WATCH * Huge X8.2 Flare Sept. 10, 2017! (Updated Daily)

The sunspot itself did not flare however it has caused the region around it to become so destabilized , the massive black spot is known as a 'Coronal Hole'

Such is when a region of the sun's field becomes weakened and allows much more solar winds through than normal. So much that it's like we're having a solar storm but there hasn't been a flare.

Which is going to make a real flare , all that much more worse.

I've heard her use that phrasing on filament eruptions in the past. But I think she was referring to this.

IS THIS SUNSPOT CRACKING UP? Yesterday, Italian astronomer Alessandro Bianconi pointed his solar telescope at sunspot AR2776. The active region appears to be cracking up. The bridge is about 5,000 miles long, roughly equal to the diameter of Mars. These dimensions make it an easy target for backyard solar telescopes.

The nature of light bridges is not fully understood. Some research suggests that magnetic fields at the base of a light bridge are busy cross-crossing and reconnecting--the same explosive process that sparks solar flares. Does this mean the primary core of AR2776 will explode--or quietly fall apart? More often than not, light bridges herald the breakup of a sunspot. Either way, something is about to happen.

I guess it exploded :)

Whats really interesting is that there is 8 hours missing from the loop starting at 10/23 - 14:36 , some sort of glitch then the next frame , the time is suddenly at 22:30.

Also there is Mercury (I think) or stereo A that is coming from right to left just before that frame at 14:36 - if you look at how it is progressing up to that point , it should have been moved 8 hours later - but instead it appears in the same spot.

It doesn't show up in any of the feeds except the SUVI hourly which shows the giant explosion occur for the few frames it captured.

And the Chinese have applied to put up 3000 plus satellites just like this also.

Now what could go wrong????????
