Venus is dominant in the pre-dawn skies now. I only have a small Newtonian reflector, but rings of Saturn and the moons of Jupiter are beautiful. I have a home-made solar filter that I'm eager to use for Cycle 25 sunspots. The NOAA jinx again-the sun goes flatline.... Different cycle, same old Earth-facing quiet. AR2781 has stabilized and is decaying. We'll probably see a huge flare as it disappears over the limb. Many more spots are on the way...... soon....
