post glacial rebound, glaciers melting, inundating the oceans and pushing up under the land. No one should be on an island in these days!

Actually no. Liquifaction is when soil is shifted often and strong enough to simulate a liquid. Like placing a large rock on a pile of sand. Then shaking the rock and sand, the rock sinks into the sand when shook up.

This we see here is land breaking up into segments. This land is supported by water it seems. This will only end badly, unfortunately.

Sounded exactly like ocean water sloshing in a shoreline cave.

Liquefaction is allowing the water to permeate the ground, and rise. Water levels are near the ground anyway near the coasts. It's about to be the bay again.

That was odd.
My sister was in the 89 quake in SF.
She had an older car that ran bad sometimes. She got into her car and turned the key...she thought her car was running bad again then she looked out of her car and the parking lot and light poles were swaying and the parking lot was rolling like a lake.
It's a liquidification thing. The solid ground under you literally acts like a liquid

I totally agree the end part was particularly scary. I saw this clip briefly on CNN TV today and mentioned it to my friend who hunted the video down online. I was glad to see the full thing. It is truly haunting.

All of Mihama Ward in Chiba City is on Reclaimed Land;
it naturally belongs in the sea.


Chiba is Tokyo's breadbasket. A full quarter of Chiba's
land is agricultural, making it the 2nd biggest producer
of vegetables in Japan.


That entire section of Chiba will have to be CONDEMNED;
the Soil is far too UNSTABLE now for any existing structures.
