bhudda User ID: 1367298 United States 05/07/2011 12:47 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | You are right. Tonight it is 11.30 (23.30) PM and the moon is entirely too far west. It should be in the middle of the sky. Is anyone else noticing this??? Quoting: Lane 65x7 1373433I noticed!!! in florida... been watching it too... tonight it zoomed off to the north??? |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 1149306 United States 05/07/2011 02:07 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I forgot mention the date it is the 6th of May 2011. and Once again the moon is entirely too far west. It is almost out of sight from wear I normally see it?? Anyone know why??? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1373433From where you NORMALLY see it? So what you're actually saying is you didn't know that the Moon rises and sets about an hour later each day as it progresses through its phases. Thus there is no place it can NORMALLY be seen as it will be in a different place at the same time from night to night. |

LOL Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1277722Yesterday, out in California, when the sun was setting the moon was also on it's way to setting. By 9 o'clock the moon was gone. And what's supposed to be wrong with that? That is exactly what the Moon should be doing in th first crescent phase. |

weegie User ID: 1372058 Switzerland 05/07/2011 03:47 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I meant to post this last night, but was sleepy. A few months ago during the lunar eclipse (which was almost straight overhead here) I noticed that the moon looked like a pale pink ball when it was completely in the shadow. It was a crescent new moon last night, but to me it looked like the same odd pink color, which it shouldn't have unless it was in a shadow again. Did anyone else see this? WeAreOne User ID: 27655046 United Kingdom 11/14/2012 07:31 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | It is worth remembering that many thousands of people were watching the moon last night during the eclipse. I'm sure someone would have noticed if it only took a few seconds to go through the whole event Be the change you want the World to be. Be |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 27727641 Italy 11/14/2012 07:50 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The Moons orbit isn't a perfect circle and also shifts up/down many degrees angle. Quoting: --Voltaic-- It is perfectly normal for the Moon to race across the sky or creep real slow. It just depends on the state of orbit and the viewer. Not at all, we are talking about how was the speed of the moon in the sky. So No ***** please. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 27727641 Here's the video: [link to youtu.be] quote... "The sun just went down now the moon is going down too? Isn't it supposed to rise....." Well, the Sun and Moon follow the same general path because it is actually the Earths rotation that makes it appear to move. When the Moon is new or close to new, it will set with the Sun, rise with the Sun. Which is why you can't see the New moon..... lol LoL LOL |
