I believe it´s ALL a huge game of disinformation and manipulation. Trust nothing you hear and only half of what you see.

Ever just turned your back on someone having a hissy fit? They finally give up and look foolish? The less attention we pay to this manipulation might work to some degree here.

PQ, I´ve noticed over time that many terrorist threats have been anounced just after information that is detrimental to this administration has come out and the threat has turned out to be based on old information. Bad things do happen but I see no reason to live my life suspiciously or in fear. I haven´t seen the news reports on this one so I can´t really comment on it. Just feels like they are ´crying wolf´ most of the time.

Yep, another load of BS to keep the scare level up.

Well, it all seems and sounds so crafted. "Blood will run in the streets" is quite reminicent of "the mother of all wars". I realize the Middle East people speak like that, but its just falling flat.

I don´t live in fear either.

The good thing out of all of this is more and more people are becoming suspicious of what we are being told. I don´t know anyone personally who trusts the govt or the news anymore.

everything you see in the media is to manipulate someone to do something. these freaks that produce these terrorist warning videos could be done by anybody. they could be produced in someone´s basement in middle of Ohio or done in a back room in iraq.

racheting up the fear of terrorism wins a couple of points for bush in the polls because, psychologically, that´s how a lot of people respond to this stuff. run to Bush because he´ll keep us safe.

I agree...most definitely an American, although I don´t think it is quite as sinister as you think.

While the tape may be "authentic," I truly believe that the guy is most likely some computer geek looking for attention. Did you listen to the way he spoke? The guy´s most likely someone that had his ass kicked a few too many times in high school, and adopted Osama as his idol. Kinda like some sway toward satanism to fill the void of powerlessness and low self-esteem. They think this somehow gives them strength because everyone is afraid of "satanists"...

He probably made the thing in his basement, and then obscurely mailed it to Pakistan for "discovery."

I will say this though - if this tape is real, America will very quickly change its tone.

I think what bothers me the most is the IMPORT all this is given. As you said, Wag The Dog, manipulation, creating fear....do you think they sense a lot of this is falling on deaf ears? Do they think the millions are falling for it? Did they think using an "American" would give it more credence and hence create more fear?

This morning on GMA (no, I don´t hang on their every word) some guy said this was to make us fear our very own next door neighbors.

Seems they´re trying to ratchet it up. Lets all just spit in their faces!!

I find it highly suspicious that a tv network, an American tv network, gets access to this (made-for-tv) video which is virtually a political ad for Kerry since it warns against voting for Bush. How very strange. I never thouht I´d live to see the day that American lives would be threatened if they voted a certain way. And how does this Adam Pearlman guy know whether Kerry won´t be any more aggressive in Iraq if he wins the presidency?????

Good points! Americans threatened for voting a certain way. Yep, never thought that would happen. OH WELL. Honestly, things are so broken in this world, something has to come to a real breaking point. I feel that way about this country. That its too late, it needs to break as it cannot be fixed.

I will admit that I haven´t had much time as of late to keep up with it, but I´ll read through it this weekend .. that´s a promise .. although I don´t know why you believe I could figure this out .. there were alot of people doing great work on it last time I saw it.

It doesn´t make me feel helpless....unless its in the sense that "they" are out of control. I don´t fear the terror threats. I don´t really fear TPTB. It makes me so sad as I sit back and see it for what it is, as do so many here, and I think of the millions that will run and rush and live their lives in fear....fear of the flu, fear of threats, fear of a candidate, etc. So useless.

What if everyone stopped running, stood still and said NO. Not gonna play this game anymore! WOW. that would be great. But it wont happen. Wishful thinking on my part.

I think of the trees and birds and such...they go on and live, they eat, have babies...what happens in the world doesn´t stop them from what they do. You don´t see them cowering in fear as so many humans do. I just want to step back and disengage from the world´s shit and live my life.
