Anonymous Coward User ID: 1293396 China 03/14/2011 09:13 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Reports from earlier live press conference, THE main core building from Fukushima 3 has been damaged. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1217946Now, it now means the rods are on ''open air'', plus, the fuel used on F3 is MOX. A thousand times more lethal. "Open air" means what??? These phrases are being thrown about without the slightest bit of definition. The core building doesn't mean shit. It just keeps the rain and wind out of the area which holds a big-ass containment vessel, which completely encloses the reactor vessel, which completely encloses the nuclear fuel rods. So - what theee Fuck does "open air" mean? Apparently, nobody knows what the hell they're talking about. And this time - it fucking matters! |
BRIEF User ID: 381742 United States 03/14/2011 09:13 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Structural damage confirmed on F 3 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1217946It seems now, it will be impossible to cool the rector down. Folks, the situation is dire, to those in the region, please leave now. This is no joke. I bet I can make a joke out of it...So just cool down and don't crack up over it... I never forgive and I never forget I am a licensed firearm holder. I will, under protection of law, use lethal force if attacked. |

S'gan-Levi User ID: 1295532 Israel 03/14/2011 09:15 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | BREAKING NEWS: Fukushima's 3 reactors highly likely facing melting: Edano (21:41) Quoting: AD 1217946[link to english.kyodonews.jp] on the breaking news section #2 is facing melt down: ".....The seawater injection operation started at 4:34 p.m., but water levels in the No. 2 reactor have since fallen sharply with only one out of five fire pumps working. The other four were feared to have been damaged by a blast that occurred in the morning at the nearby No. 3 reactor. The utility firm said a hydrogen explosion at the nearby No. 3 reactor that occurred Monday morning may have caused a glitch in the cooling system of the No. 2 reactor. Similar cooling down efforts have been taken at the plant's No. 1 and No. 3 reactors and explosions occurred at both reactors in the process, blowing away the roofs and walls of the buildings that house the reactors. It is feared that the No. 2 reactor will follow the same path. To prevent a possible hydrogen explosion at the No. 2 reactor, TEPCO said it will look into opening a hole in the wall of the building that houses the reactor to release hydrogen......" Revelation 1:7 "Behold, He comes with clouds; and every eye shall see Him, and they also which pierced Him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of Him. Even so, Amen." Zechariah 12:10 "And I will pour on the house of David, and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look on Me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for Him, as one mourns for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for Him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn." |

Anonymous Coward (OP) User ID: 1217946 Switzerland 03/14/2011 09:16 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Sunday 22nd August, 05:36 AM JST FUKUSHIMA — Tokyo Electric Power Co loaded plutonium-uranium mixed oxide fuel Saturday into a reactor at its nuclear power plant in Fukushima Prefecture in preparation for the largest Japanese utility’s first plutonium-thermal power generation. The No. 3 reactor at the Fukushima No. 1 plant would be the third in Japan to be used for the so-called pluthermal generation, but the only one among the three to have been subjected to antiaging treatment with 34 years since its launch. Pluthermal output has already begun at the No. 3 reactor of Kyushu Electric Power Co’s Genkai plant in Saga Prefecture and the No. 3 reactor of Shikoku Electric Power Co’s Ikata plant in Ehime Prefecture. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 883595 Puerto Rico 03/14/2011 09:20 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | So what will happen to WA, CA, OR? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1293621It's impossible to tell at this point. If the MOX reactor is melting down, that should be followed at some point by a huge explosion when the plasma hits the water table. At that point, a highly radioactive cloud would be ejected high into the atmosphere, certainly making it's way around the world. The estimates are fro 8-14 days for a radioactive cloud of that sort to hit the US. So the short answer is that it's too soon to know for sure exactly what to expect. |

I don't know how you try and keep the pile cool at this point. They will probably try to use seawater. That will heavily contaminate the ocean since the seawater would go back into the ocean. That will probably fail, and then the superheated plasma would begin to burn through the earth until it hits the water table...then it would explode. |
