The only difference is japan couldn't get power back on due to tsunami taking out generators. We're not having that problem obviously, so it better be ok

I live a 25 minute drive from Pickering. We had to do drills in grade school on what to happen if it went critical.



ANYWAYS, it's got a horrible safety record and staff have been compared to the workers from the Simpsons in the local papers. They have heavy water leaks all the time, straight into Lake Ontario. Our drinking water always has traces of Uranium.

I'm a bigtime Nuketard because of this.. And anyways, I'm not worried, like I said, they spill heavy water all the time, no big deal (except in the long run, of course).

yea, I'm thinking what if they released stuxnet right before the earthquake....and in order to cover that, they generated the earthquake....

they just said on Toronto news (CP24) that the leak was from a storage container housing spent fuel rods, and that the radioactivity of the water released is negligible. They didn't say anything about the current status of the pumps.

a tiny incident that would have gone completely unreported if there wasn't a situation in Japan.
