Gilbert Gottfried's jokes about Japanese tsunami victims got him fired as the voice of the AFLAC duck this week, but ten years of jokes about victims of child molestation, the Holocaust and 9/11 have never ruffled AFLAC's feathers.
Take a look at the jokes Gilbert Gottfried made that didn't get him fired from AFLAC:
In 2001 at the Hugh Hefner Roast shortly after 9/11: “I have to leave early tonight, I have to fly out to L.A. I couldn’t get a direct flight, I have to make a stop at the Empire State Building.”
In March 2011 at the Donald Trump Roast: “As a developer, Donald Trump has done so much damage to the New York skyline instead of calling him ‘The Donald’ they should call him ‘The 20th Highjacker’.”
In August 2009 at the Comedy Central Roast of Robin Quivers: "Anyone who has ever listened to the Howard Stern show has heard Robin Quivers talk about being molested by her father. What Robin conveniently leaves out of her delightful anecdote was that even as a kid she was so ugly that even as a child that Robin’s father would close his eyes and think about her sister--who was no looker herself I may add.”
On the Howard Stern in 2008, to a daughter of Holocaust victims: “Your parents had a very hip look. They were thin and they shaved their heads. What did they eat there to look so thin?...Can you pick me up in a cattle car?....Are you afraid to take a shower?"
In September 2010 after comedian Greg Giraldo died from an accidental drug overdose after languishing in a coma in the hospital for five days: "I read that Greg Giraldo's family pulled the plug. That's what I did every time I saw Greg on TV."
