United States 03/19/2011 02:10 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | What exactly is a Beta Gross Count Rate (CPM): I've been seeing people over the last few days posting radiation readings from RADNET. These posters all seem to be focusing on a Beta Gross Count Rate (CPM) number; a number that at times is quite high and creates alarm.
Nowhere have I seen an explanation as to what exactly a Beta Gross Count Rate (CPM) is. Can a scientific type out there please explain this? What does it equate to? Sieverts? Rads? something else entirely?
Thanks! |

I would recommend you track the levels over time to see trends. If the levels increase by a lot over a few hours or days, then you should worry. |
