The new madrid fault is about to go. It is building up pressure between the plates, and it is creating a magnetic field.

PALM COAST, Fla. -- Investigators are trying to solve a bizarre mystery in Flagler County. A wave of people called 911 around 9:30am Friday to report the ground shaking in Flagler County. The calls all came from the Hammock area of Palm Coast (see map).

However, people in the north Daytona area, as well as in Deltona and as far north as St. Augustine, said they felt it as well. Many people were worried that the shaking was an earthquake.

The Emergency Management Office was on the phone all day trying to figure out the cause of the shaking. Residents said that buildings were shaking, and even a dispatcher in the county felt it happen.

The U.S. Geological Survey told Flagler County that sensors in Georgia and Orlando picked up no movement. The National Weather Service reported nothing odd, and the Navy and Coast Guard told WFTV they had no information regarding on or offshore bombing exercises.

"We are checking with all the agencies that monitor those kinds of things and hopefully we'll come up with an answer, but right now, we're kind of perplexed," an official told WFTV.

Everything, from a meteor burning up to a moon phase that allows ocean waves to hit hard enough to vibrate the shoreline, is being considered as a cause.

Got a sudden migraine this morning at 9:30....

You have been having small quakes all week, and others have reported that here. You sit on a boggy mess and it's moving with the other earth changes going on in the area. The gulf is in serious shit and the Atlantic ridge is playing again off and on when reported on usgs. The whole new madrid area is shaking too.

My 2 cents?

Due to the poleshifting that is going on, that part of Florida has moved into the region on the globe known as "The Bermuda Triangle".

What was the pulse of energy all about.

The pulse seemed to be a discharge of energy as the sound dissipated immediately after the pulse occurred.

Wow.

I'm sorry, but that didn't sound like an earthquake. It really did sound like a rushing river. Pretty scary.

Article is from March 18. There have been at least two threads on this from people who felt it.

There was another thread about the ground shaking in Florida on Friday that happened in the morning, many people felt it all over central florida....interestingly enough there was also another thread that talked about the 100X25 mile long oil slick that was coming from a crack in the ocean floor in the gulf of mexico near the deepwater horizon well...I wonder if the two have something to do with each other.

Also, it sort of sounds an awful lot like a petrochemical plant burning a major flare. They have been known in my area to shake the ground when they are burning hard and heavy. I wonder if there is some sort of petrochemical plant around that area?

Not saying that's what it really is...just saying it's more similar to that than an earthquake.
