But the guy in fact BROKE the law. It is quite easy to see that. Well known laws at that.
If he had been smart...
He would have called it a Liberty coin.
Not had a value stamped on the coin.
Not claimed it as legal tender.
Then...
if asked, "what's the value of the coin?" He could have replied, "well, it's worth about a dollar", and winked.
If asked OFFICIALLY he could have claimed it an "artistic commemorative."
Various companies strike commemoratives all the time.
I mean people in the know would know exactly what the coin was all about.
If you are going to play games with the government, you've got to play smart.
