"We are not able to measure the radioactive materials from the plant itself and therefore we are estimating how much radioactive material is coming from the plant." Apparently they are doing all this from a distance instead of placing measuring equipment back in the plant.... They are also reporting an estimated 100milli Sieverts per hour exposure just from being outside. This applies to people outside of the 30mile perimeter as well. Edano now admitting the radioactive material is spreading and rain is making it worse Maybe it is off the scale - kind of like trying to measure an earthquake above 10 on the ricter scale. |

Well, I know what you mean. However, what is interesting about these types of situations is that this is where the interests of the government and the man in the street totally diverge. The government will lie to the people - and do so with the belief that they are being proper and responsible in avoiding panic. The smart man in the street, though, who must do what he can to save his family, must disbelieve the government - exactly because of that fact. He must act upon his disbelief before the others figure out the government is lying through its teeth - else he's fucked. Lesson to all of us. This WILL happen in each country we reside in. The Shit is Most Definitely Hitting the Fan - all sorts of Shit - hitting all sorts of Fans. Therefore, it is responsible and proper for each of us to disbelieve governments' bullshit palliatives during crises, even though you might lie too, if you were in their positions. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 1288642 Philippines 03/23/2011 05:07 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The japanese government is to blame for the tsunami disaster. They spent so much money for earthquake monitoring and they couldn't even predict the 9.0 m quake that hit them. Or perhaps, they were aware a big quake is coming but they were too afraid to warn their people. |
