I was reading your referenced article; but, couldn't get past this:
Meanwhile, at Fukushima nuclear power plant, which has been in crisis since cooling systems failed amid the deadly devastation of the March 11 earthquake and tsunami, engineers gained a small victory, giving it a cautious welcome.
"The light went on in the control room of No. 1 reactor at 11:30am," an official said, according to AFP. "But we are still unsure whether this means the cooling system will be restored."
WTH!! A freak'n light works! OMG!!

If I could post pics without going through a big hassle I would take some of some electrical stuff here and see that just because you get power run in there is a lot of other shit that has to work But why would the pumps not work? The only problem was the external power source being knocked out, and then the generators failing. If they had have shipped in portable generators the day it happened they would have been able to run the pumps? Why would the Tsunami damage the pumps?How could it is a better question?
