She told me 3 weeks tops and Japanese fish that has been frozen (not fresh) will be depleted and also 2 major brands of saki also will be depleted and not available. SHE IS JAPANESE. There was a thread about three or four days after the nuclear accident started happening - and in it there was someone who had family connections/apparently/ to an engineer working at a nuclear facility on the East coast...
Long story short- this "family" member told them in no uncertain terms - go get as much water as you can stock now! Don't wait - get water right now. From what I could gather - this family member with ties to the nuclear industry felt that water was going to be one of the main issues if all our lakes,streams, water tables were possibly contaminated in the future...

Erm ... Illinois has more nuke plants than any other state in the union: 18 of them, I believe.
