By watching the rest of the above kiss of the dragon clip i noticed at 9:10 when jet li takes the needle off his victim there are some demonic sounds heard and again when the needle lands on the floor at 9:17, similar sounds i heard in daywatch movie when the vampire kid stuck his soul sucking needle to his victim back. Also when jet li removed that needle it reminded me the neck needle of matrix movies! Never liked that matrix needle from the first time i saw it, it reminded me also mosquitos' needle mouth.
And funny thing in the mri it's so obvious we're stuck/plugged similar way.
