the same reason for me as well. i'd hide in a grocery store so i could have food for a while, and be sure to load up on weapons. my weapon of choice would be an aluminum baseball bat.

Head north to colder territory and wait for the zombies to freeze, all that added clothing for warmth doubles as armor. Not to mention, zombies are slow to begin with so gathering a lot of supplies in a large back pack wouldn't be difficult with proper support. A small group of 3 or 4 could fare pretty well.
