Can we make a bet? I say nothing relevant will change after October 28, 2011.
I heard hundreds of paranoid prophecies, yet none of them ever turned out true.
Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1330370Look around you. You don't see it? You can't feel it? The world is changing. Big things are coming. If you choose to close your eyes and hide your head in the sand, that's up to you. Not everyone is meant to survive. Quoting: KhazaqI have a lot of mileage; Chernobyl’s disaster - a total nuclear meltdown - happened few hundred miles away from where I was living back then (in Vienna); I saw Bosnian war up close (NATO LOT); much worst things happened to mankind before; nothing overly special is going on right now. What you feel is a well-cultivated paranoia; those on power want to keep you frightened... and you want that as well. Again, are you ready to make a bet or not? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1330370Fukushima is now worse than Chernobyl. Nevermind the earthquake and tsunami that caused it. And the Middle East is exploding. World War III is on the horizon. The sun rose two days early in Greenland in January, along with all the mysterious bird and fish deaths, and you think things are normal. Okay. As for betting, no, I don't gamble. Quoting: KhazaqAt the moment, Fukushima is not worse than Chernobyl (the core has not been blasted away, yet). There were worse quakes in past few decades (Chile ’60, Alaska ’64, Indonesia ’04). There were far worse war in the ME; at the moment there are no mighty global opponents to cause the WWIII (nobody would stand on Gaddafi’s side). But then yes, we fucked up our environment by treating it as our dumpster; that could be the real issue. The only real doom could be our own stupidity. Again, those on power need us more than we need them - as consumers, voters, cheap labor and cannon fodder. Think about that. .
