Anonymous Coward User ID: 1309404 United States 04/07/2011 10:31 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | So I was hearing about the Rio De Janeiro shooting this morning, and then finding out that, here in the USA, a school in Indiana, Martinsville Middle School, was put on lockdown, for nearly an hour (estimated) because a faculty member saw a teen whom she believed was not a student, and who may have been tied to the shooting that happened there a week ago. Here is the link for you if you'd like to read it. Quoting: I.R.A[link to www.indystar.com] Now what I want to know is: 1. What the hell is going on with people targeting kids??! 2. What are the schools doing to prevent these situations from happening? 3. Why didn't the school send texts, phone alerts to the parents and tell them that the school is on lockdown? Instead of having to find out on the radio that your kid may be dead. One of the school board members told an interviewer that the texts weren't sent out because the incident was under investigation. The fact that they withheld the information from the parents should be grounds for investigation as well. Parents have a right to know when a lockdown happens. 1. Kids are just one more of many group of people. This surprises you? Vaccinations didnt make you ask this? 2. Rest assured, the schools will capitalize on this opportunity to further conform them. "If it werent bad enough making them dress the same, and teaching them to think the same." 3. Because they give less than a rat's ass about the parents as well. |

Yeah the vaccines caught my attention way before the shootings. The suspensions, etc that they throw at kids who refuse to take a mandatory shot. Agreed, common dress will be enforced more, as well as whatever else they throw at them. True, they're just there for a check. What else can I say, besides AWESOME! I.R.A (OP) User ID: 1330119 United States 04/07/2011 10:47 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | This is old news. There was a shooting at the school and the teacher probably freaked when she someone who looked suspicious to her. You can't send every parent a txt msg sending them into panic attacks because a teacher thought she saw someone suspicious. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1324340It actually just recently happened so it's not old news. They went on lockdown today. The teacher saw someone who was said to have resembled a person who was an accomplice to the shooter. The parents have a right to know, that's their kids. What else can I say, besides AWESOME!
