Can anyone tell me just 1?.............One globally known person? One politician??? One actor???? One famous dancer or singer?????

Yes, it's strange. There were lots of near-misses however, famous people who said they were supposed to be there and suddenly changed their minds. Very suspicious. The only famous person who died in any of these events was that news reporter on the plane, the senator's wife who supposedly talked to him before her death. That was probably just a sacrifice.

Nate Berkus..interior designer from Oprah show. He and his boyfriend were in the Indonesian Tsunami..he survived his boyfriend didn't. If you consider Oprah one of the elite..why didn't she warn them?

Oh yeah, and fashion photographer Simon Atlee died in the Indonesian tsunami. So did Sir Richard Attenborough's daughter and grand-daughter.

There are a couple of obvious reasons why a small number of 'famous people' die in natural disasters.

1. The victims of natural disasters tend to be poor people living in rural communities in poor countries that don't have much earthquake/flood protection. Rich and famous people tend not to spend much time living in these places.

2. Only a tiny proportion of the world's population can be described as 'famous', and even less of them would be famous to Americans, or even any country outside the one they're best known in. About 100 people died in the Christchurch earthquakes, out of a total population of almost 400,000. A famous person would have to be pretty unlucky to be caught up in that.

Finnish pop artist Aki Sirkesalo died in the 2004 tsunami.. we have a saying here that someone is "gone like Sirkesalo from a beach chair"

what makes you think someone like Oprah would give a damn about her interior designer? it's just busywork anyway.
