An explosion has hit the subway system in Minsk, the capital of Belarus, witnesses tell AP

An explosion has ripped through a subway station in the centre of the Belarusian capital, severely wounding at least a dozen people and sending clouds of smoke pouring into the street.
An Associated Press reporter at the scene Monday evening saw several inert people being carried out of the station, some with heavy injuries including at least one with missing legs.
