Why Is Popular Opinion So Popular
Why Popular Opinion is Popular

What is popular opinion, except counting numbers and assigning validity to the opinion which garnishes the consensus. But in the matter of human minds each one is as valid as every other, and every opinion holds one hundred percent value. To the human way of thinking, the higher the number of minds which agree, the better, and the higher the number the closer to the truth the consensus opinion must be. If only twenty-five percent of the people believe a thing, that makes it less credible than if fifty per cent of the people believe a thing to be true. If ninety percent believe it, then it’s a fact. So those who ascribe to this thought pattern don’t have to even bother looking into the facts, they just accept that if that many other humans believe a thing it must be true.
Is the truth then, to be gauged by the numbers?

Each person is the center of his or her universe, and truth is subject to the mind of the one holding the opinion. It does not make it absolute cosmic truth, but to them it is the truth, as they perceive it.

That is the problem with looking for truth in numbers. The popular opinion is often the lazy persons opinion, too lazy to research a subject, they would rather just say “everyone knows that’s true”, or “experts say”. Since all of us are each, one person one opinion, what makes one more valuable than another is the amount of trust we have in the source. Do you know the expert personally, so that you trust he or she is a person of integrity? Or, are you impressed by the fact they have many letters behind their name.

This kind of thinking is the result of humanity losing its inner guidance system. Not every human, but a sizeable amount, look to outside sources for guidance and truth. This has left them wide open for manipulation by others who prefer their own version of truth to be the prevailing opinion.

As posted earlier on the masculine “I” will, and the feminine “me” passive acceptance, this view displays that there is very little “I’’ self left, in a large number of persons. This part of the self, the part that is assertive and dominant and makes decisions has atrophied by constantly looking to outside opinions to guide them, instead of activated the “I” of will and not accepting the beliefs of the experts, the authorities, the leaders or the media.

This is nothing new. They used to say, such and such is true, because the priest said it, or the king said it, or the rabbi said it, now it’s the media says it. They should be saying I believe it because I know it to be true from my own inner knowing. So, listen to all opinions but trust yourself.

Most people who hold to group consensus, don’t have any trust in their own instincts, which have also atrophied with the intrusion of civilization into the natural world. Some will ignore their ‘gut instincts’ if it does not agree with the majority.

The ancients told us this is a world of Maya or illusion. Some play the experts but when examined carefully, they stand on shifting sand. Some complain that this life did not come with an instruction manual so they don’t know who to believe. Some of course will hold up a book and say here this is it! This is the manual.

However, there are many such books and many groups holding them up. The wise one knowing the universe is fractal will see the truth woven through all of them, and find his own truth, in all of them.

If you think Jesus is the truth, the life and the way, then, there are millions of others who think Buddha is the way, the truth and the life and in another part of the world many who certain that Allah or Jehovah or Shiva is the way, the life and the truth.

You must find your own truth in this world because you have been given not only a manual but an entire Hall of Records but its locked up and everyone has the key hanging just in the middle of their chest. It is the heart. This is the feminine side which gives you feelings that you are facing lies or truth. You also need to have that masculine side for how can there be a wedding without a groom?

The masculine part of your mind, is the will, and yours is free. You must not allow it to lie dormant and just be a empty vessel waiting to be filled with the concepts of other minds, but must decide to seek truth for yourself, wherever it leads you, even if it leads you away from the popular opinion into a lonelier path. Remember nature fills empty spaces and if your thoughts aren’t yours then they will be someone else’s.

Re: Why Is Popular Opinion So Popular
"There are no excuses to continue having "popular opinions" held as the basis of prevalent unknowns and/or mysteries on the material plane of reality, as most people have been accustomed to experiencing, insofar as one may understand reality, as it may be undisclosed, simply because proof of an unknown and/or mystery, that is enshrouded by conditioned minds, or an otherwise individual's specific level of consciousness or awareness of reality, reveals a current availability and/or readily accessible information online, via the "Worldwide Web" of which can validate factual 'Truth' consistently demonstrating how 'Truth' itself, in all of such innumerable considerations, has been, and will continue to be stranger than that which is considered to be based on fiction, resulting in the collapse of skepticism, supported by "noisy-negativists" and those who may be impetuously impulsive to abruptly formulate assumptions without collecting the acquisitions of factual information for themselves. Such an approach requires a high degree of intellectual adroitness, open-mindedness, and broad-mindedness (rarely self-realized and demonstrative by the majority of people in society, as english speakers in societies worldwide) for any person to understand and/or comprehend a realization that the validity of these truths are replete with a very broad spectrum of accessible information, that requires some degree of effort to obtain and formulate an understanding, accompanied with extensive, very careful, and meticulously thorough examination to result as a mode of concise discernment."

Re: Why Is Popular Opinion So Popular
"Popular Opinion" is a catch phrase used by propagandists/public relations firms/psychiatrists that is designed to sway people's opinion into a desired direction, usually involving swaying the thoughts/opinions of the masses in the propagandists' favor.

By adding the word "popular" to the word "opinion" it makes most sheeple feel that they, too, want to be "popular" so their "opinion" will be the same as that opinion which is "popular."

In other words, people are easily molded and swayed into believing things that they normally wouldn't believe.
