but it explains a lot... look at the tectonic plates, the cocos and the Caribbean plate that contains all central America and the Caribbean islands but are very small in comparison to the big plates around... if the pacific plate is shaking in the other side of the world the small plates will collapse. They know that and that is why they are digging there... I wonder if the digging will affect the result or will accelerate the event...
