Plenty of scope for Dr Owuor's prophecy to come true, from the areas he points out in Australia.

Queensland seems to be jostling for a place in the Earthquake Watch clips.

I remember reading about the Bonin area, which he nominates as being vulnerable in the Northern Hemisphere, when it had a fair sized quake a few months ago. Different seas and/or plates come together there.

He said nothing about "Bonin" (I assume you mean Bowen)and aftershocks were expected with that quake in queensland. The aftershocks aren't significant either.

He said Tasmania and Western Australia and the east coast and basically the entire continent. No specifics whatsoever. Increases his chances of being right (be it in the next 5 to 50 years - he never gives dates) and more sheep will follow him.

Bonin Islands

The Bonin Islands, known in Japan as the Ogasawara Group are an archipelago of over 30 subtropical and tropical islands, some 1,000 kilometres (540 nmi; 620 mi) directly south of Tokyo, Japan. Administratively, they are part of Ogasawara Municipality (mura) of Ogasawara Subprefecture, Tokyo. The total area of the islands is 73 square kilometres (28 sq mi), with a population of 2440.

The only inhabited islands of the group are Chichi-jima, the seat of the municipal government, and Haha-jima includes what is within Ogasawara Village.

In Japanese, the archipelago is called Ogasawara Group. By contrast, the term Ogasawara Archipelago, is a wider, collective term for all islands of Ogasawara Municipality, which also includes the Volcano Islands and a few isolated islands. The common English name for Ogasawara Guntō is Bonin Islands, from bunin, an archaic reading of, that means "no people" or "uninhabited."

Formation

The Ogasawara Islands were formed around 48 million years ago. They are a part of the Izu-Bonin-Mariana Arc known geologically as a fore arc. They lie above a subduction zone between the Pacific Plate and the Philippine Sea Plate. The Pacific Plate is subducting under the Philippine Sea Plate, which creates an oceanic trench to the east of the islands.

The crust of the Ogasawara (Bonin) Islands was formed by volcanic activity when subduction began 45–50 million years ago, and is composed mostly of an andesitic volcanic rock called boninite, which is rich in magnesium oxide, chromium, and silicon dioxide. The Ogasawara Islands may represent the exposed parts of an ophiolite that has not yet been emplaced on oceanic crust. The rocks of the Volcano Islands are much younger; Iwo Jima is a dormant volcano characterized by rapid uplift and several hot springs.

Most of the islands have steep shorelines, often with sea cliffs ranging from 50 to 100 metres (160 to 330 ft) in height, but the islands are also fringed with coral reefs and have many beaches. The highest point lies on South Iwo Jima, at 916 metres (3,005 ft).

The 2010 Bonin Islands earthquake occurred on 21 December 2010 when a MW 7.4 earthquake struck off of the Bonin Islands, Japan.

The quake occurred at about 0220 local time (1720 UTC), about 155 kilometres (96 mi) east of the Bonin Islands, at a depth of around 15 km (9.3 mi). After the quake, the Japan Meteorological Agency issued a warning of a possible tsunami, capable of producing a wave of up to 2 metres (6.6 ft) high near the Bonin Islands, though milder for mainland Japan.

Residents of the Bonin Islands were advised to move towards higher ground, and advisories were also issued for some provinces along Japan's Pacific coast. Around 40 minutes after the initial quake, wave swells of up to 30 centimetres (12 in) were seen on the coast of the main Japanese island, though no tsunami waves were seen from the island of Chichi-jima.

There were twenty-two M5.0+ aftershocks within six hours from the quake, including two with a magnitude of 5.6 that occurred at 1740 and 1741 UTC.By 27 December, 79 M5.0+ aftershocks had occurred.

I meant to refer to the guy who makes the Earthquake Watch clips as mentioning Bonin. It is south of the Japanese Islands, and a quake there would affect a lot of the islands of the South Pacific, and possibly the north Qld coast.

In relation to Dr Owour, a quake on the east side of NZ, where the EW guy also refers to, would bathe the coasts Dr Owuor nominates. A quake to the south of the continent, would make Dr Owour half right, as it would hit Tasmania, but would make the preacher from the USA who warns of a southern coast tsunami correct.

Happened an hour or two ago. If you check out the spot on the google map link provided. Its in the right spot for tsunamis to be roaring up the Tasman (as people have been saying). It could be nothing or there could be more - who knows?

Dr Owuor's prophecy are interesting, but the only way a tsunami can hit Australia is if Indonesia or NZ sinks

Therefore he has two chances out of four, if you apply four corners to the continent. The quakes over the past two days, are in one of the corners which he does not nominate, but no tsunami, so that doesn't make him wrong, yet.

I hope he is wrong, it is my fellow Australians who will suffer if he is correct.

There are lots more options than that. The south pacific islands having a major volcanic event. South America can send one our way. There have been events on all of our coastlines, over the years.

Hahaha I'm waiting for him to announce "Prophecy Fulfilled!" like he did when Queensland got soaked in January. I know people trust this guy but for him to be right, it better happen exactly how he said before i'm convinced.

The whole continent basically was just how I see it/lame joke. If the east coast gets taken out from a quake originating in Tasmania, for it to sweep the east coast as he says, that affects 4 major cities, and then WA gets taken out (according to him) so whats left? the middle, and most people outside the country don't know what the hell is there anyway.

Two quakes mate. The quake he sees off the south east coast, is not the same as the one he sees for off the north western coast. Therefore, no, he is not saying a tsunami will travel from Sydney, along the southern coast, and up to Perth. Two separate events. Quite possible if the plate wobbles, since they are diagonally opposite.

But it was in an area that has been hit by 8 7 or greater quakes since 1900, so NOT unusual at all.
