Basically the first 15-20 minutes of DICK’s story (WE REMEMBER FOR YOU WHOLESALE if I rember the title right) was Quaid running around with the wet towel on his bonce (can't remember if he wears the towel in the short story) is the original story.

The implant device that Quaid has in his head is a 2-way transmitter. The company contacts him and offer to remove the secret agent memory and replace it with another one, they actually intend to kill Quaid once the memory has been erased.

Quaid /Johny Nemonic turns himself in and asks 4 a memory of helping stranded ALIENS fix their spaceship. The secret agent memory is removed.

Surprise, surprise, when implanting the memory of the stranded aliens the company discovers that when he was a CHILD Quaid (Indigo child or what???) really had helped aliens repair their craft. In return for the help with their craft the aliens promised Quaid they would not to invade Earth (War of Worlds remake) as long as he is still alive. What is this shit? Dan Burisch shit?
