Where there is one roach visible, there are 1,000 that arent. You will never get ahead of this with retail products. Hire someone who can stamp this out for you. Yeah, its costly ($30/month) but you will save HUGE in the long run. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1363262You don't even need roach bombs really. You can get spray from the supermarket which has "egg stoppers" in it. It stops the cockroach eggs from hatching. So if you sprayed a little bit of this around once a month or so, you will soon only see dead cockroaches. THat's what I do. Just get the surface spray with "egg stoppers". One brand even has some sort of lure in it to attract cockroaches to it, then they get poisoned and die. |

Any other ideas man? Woman, and good luck with that plan. Exterminators have legal access to chemicals that you and I (and your Dad) don't. Y'all will end up spending a fortune trying to rid the bugs and still end up picking them out of your food. You will wake up one morning and open the coffee pot to pour in water and see roaches crawling out of it. Been there. Called Orkin that day and haven't had a problem since. Good luck. |

If yours is an older house, you can bet it has cracks, and that's where they're getting in. Step 2: Buy this gel and bait all around the house with it as per the directions on the package. [link to www.domyownpestcontrol.com] I lived in one old duplex that had a lot of cracks. After trying many things, the above steps are what *finally* got rid of the nasty buggers! Good luck! |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 1363799 United States 05/01/2011 02:14 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Simple. Scrub and clean every inch of your home. After that, put trash in the trash, and take out of the house, often. Wipe up after yourself. Take bathes or showers. Never leave food particles out in the open, including crumbs. Wipe every space you touch, before and after. It's not so hard. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 1364287 Australia 05/01/2011 02:15 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I got some of this stuff: Mortein High Performance Surface Spray. [link to www.mortein.com.au] It works good. Just spray a strip in an area where cockroaches like to go, such as along the bottom of kitchen cupboards, or dark walls and floors near the fridge. The poison attracts cockroaches which eat it and then die. They say it lasts 6 months, so it's pretty good value. |

You can just use caulk for the cracks. Spackle? I don't know - anything that will make them impervious to insects. (Check for cracks in the walls behind your kitchen cabinets - that was a prime spot for the buggers in my old place!) And, order that gel I linked you to rather than any of the crap you can buy in a store. It's waaaay more potent and effective than anything you can buy in a retail establishment. It goes a long way and is SO worth the money! |
