I care about that kid and the case, and there is no way I am going to quit until I know it's over and she's back with her fam - Even if I HAD a job. I'm not the type of guy to give up - on anything. Not giving up on fighting for her and not giving up the look for a job.

OP, this is an excuse. You are avoiding your own issues. You feel desperate in your own life, so you're making yourself feel better by convincing yourself that you're helping others.

I've actually been helping this kid since the beginning of April, before any of this homeless stuff happened, so I can assure you that it's no excuse.

Alright, however there is a thing called reseasrch that even someone who doesn't have authority could do. I did it. And I found out some things that I actually understood. I know I don't have legal standing, but I can write and email those who do.

Actually, I was speaking more broadly than that. You mother's attitude towards you makes you feel like crap. I know very well what that feels like. Hard to make decisions that are good for yourself when you don't feel good about yourself. That's why your chasing this issue with this girl. It is something that allows you to feel good about yourself. Trouble is that you are escaping your own reality. Really not that much different than one who uses alcohol or drugs to avoid issues in their life. Unfortunately, the "alcohol" only makes their life worse, however good it may make them feel at the moment.

Research you can do, but nobody is required to respond, and just because you feel entitled to make it your business, doesn't make it your business.

But right now, the masses, and that includes you, are being subjected to and assaulted by various forms of subtle and not-so-subtle thought control. Even those that are acutely aware of it must be vigilant. I'm old enough to be your father and I know of what I speak.

Just the fact that you are here at GLP confirms that you are reading about many troubling events and circumstances. It can be a real balancing act for someone with a stable home life, with no financial difficulties, and mature enough to deal with what is unfolding before our eyes. For someone your age without your difficulties, and perhaps with some adult guidance, it would be hard enough. In your situation, it is impossible.

Young friend, your unwillingness to take action to immediately improve your physical situation, eg: living in a car in fear of sleeping, in need of someone who you can trust but with no one in sight, indicates a problem.

Likewise, your desire to be a "hero" and need to be seen as a good-hearted young man, is also a classic indication of a problem.

Helping others is, indeed, a good way to help heal certain emotional 'hurts'. But you are in need of psychological assistance which, unfortunately, you will likely resist due to the very issues that require attention in the first place.

We are very possibly on the verge of nuclear war and all of the nightmarish issues that go along with it. And yet, you are expending energy on a victim in a land so far distant, that any actions on your part will be a fruitless waste. Would not the time and energy be put to better use by rendering aid to yourself first? You should think about this carefully for there is precious little time to waste.

I have a feeling that although you may not consider yourself to be 'religious', you are seeking acceptance from your Creator. Your need to be in the role of 'savior' or defender of the weak is a common ploy used by those hoping to counter the feelings of unacceptability. This often stems from flawed beliefs about the true nature of God.

Please understand this: you are acceptable, you are 'worthy' of being loved by the one from whom you seek these things. But you will suffer greatly if you don't 'know thyself' and correct your thinking, and fast. You're young and not so set in your ways. You can do this. But I urge you to accept that, with your background and under today's stressors, especially what you're aware of from being here at GLP, you must be in need of some effective professional help. There's no shame in it. The shame is continuing down the spiral you are on and focusing outside of yourself, half a world away, when the difficulty lies within. The trick is finding someone who actually cares to show you how to go within and solve your own issues.

You may have an important role to play in the future so you must prepare yourself NOW. Even if that future role seems insignificant, the ripple effect could end in something big. But it won't happen if you don't work on yourself now.
