If we wanted to really hurt you we could do so in unimaginable ways. There's no need for us to add extra suffering - normal people do that well enough on their own to each other. We actually help more than hurt - for example, a massive earthquake was to hit LA in the 1980s, but that didn't fit into the plan. We had Buddhist monks and the Hopi Native Americans to intervene and make it much less severe.
