Since the social uprising, people in my close community (upper middle class) lost what left of their trust in the government. More and more are waking up to the nature of the world, but it's a slow process. A missle response from Iran is unthinkable by most people. I can't see how anyone would let the government do anything that stupid. It doesn't take a genius to learn that Iran is not exaclty excited to attack a country with over 300 nukes, and I think that people could wake up to the reality of wars given such chain of events. I can imagine unprecedented number of citizens actively promoting refusal to participate in the war - a thing that would tear completely the already torn social fabric of the society (yes, we are quite militaristic, trained from infancy, so it would break a great taboo)

It seems that Christopher was seeking out a person with that line for a particular reason. I wonder what that reason is.
Not sure it is to "just have a psychic friend"....I am sure he has many intuitive, psychic, and people with abilities. It would seem with his intelligence that he would need people who could think way outside of the box.
