Can you explain why working with demons may be a good thing? I got the impression that the main message from the Gospels of Thomas was that each person themselves has their choice and connection to know the Father.

That one didn't need to listen to Pharisees, and how following their rituals and laws will avail them not, but more a self realization, and taking their own steps to find that out.

But when people are in a position of differing level of knowledge... there seems to be power from people that may know a little more, or withhold some information, that enables them to be a master.

That seems to set up a system where let's say 3rd graders can get severely taken advantage upon, by let's say 9th graders...

If all in the classroom though, its just a matter of level of development, and that's it... but if used incorrectly, those in a higher grade can sure seem gangster to their more naive brothers and sisters in a lower grade.
