Sorry but that's just ridiculous. He did not say that the God of the old testament is bad "just because of circumcision." If you actually READ the bible instead of just listening to your local redneck pastor, you will discover that the God of the old testament is an absolutely horrible being and totally different from Jesus of the new testament.

However some (most?) people are incapable of reading the bible with any degree of detachment, so it's not surprising if you're unable to do this.

Jesus said he was sent here by his father(of the old testament) to do his will. Jesus did exactly what his father would have done. His father is not evil.

Some people think that God is bad because of the people he had killed and his wars. But this is not the truth. Look at the Canaanites. This 'old testament' God (Jesus' father) had the Canaanites killed by the Israelites because they were polluting the land with Satanic child sacrifices. They would have orgies while they killed living babies. The louder those babies screamed the better the sacrifice. Archeologists have been sickened by what these people use to do.

The Israelites were told to get rid of them and in certain instances some were saved. God never killed or destroyed people without warning them and letting them repent(ex. the warlike nation of Ninevah). Rahab was a Canaanite but she repented and was saved when the walls of Jericho fell. In fact, her whole family was saved. This former prostitute became an ancestress to Jesus Christ.

God has a meaning to his so called madness. Obviously, many people don't understand him and call him evil which he is not. Surface knowledge of the Bible might turn up a God who looks bad but dig deeper and ask for divine help and you will see that he isn't. That is why we must dig for knowledge like it is hidden treasure.

And it is not my argument about how circumcision set the Israelites apart from other nations. It is biblical. God instituted circumcision as the sign of the covenant He made with Abraham (Genesis 17:10-11), When God called Israel out of Egypt and gave them his laws, he included the command to circumcise male babies (Leviticus 12:3). Circumcision identified the Israelites as physical descendants of Abraham, gave them a sense of national identity and set them apart from other nations of the world.

Christians are not under this law. It was for a certain time for a certain people. There was nothing evil about it.

I've read this portion a few times, it appears the me the LORD being desperately wants to be known as "god". LORD says he shall be the god of this group and give them large portions of land, in exchange for worship. The distinction between LORD, and God is made in Genesis 1 and 2. LORD is the one asking for the circumcision deal. God makes Man in his image, LORD makes man from "dust". LORD also really seems to dig animal sacrifices, and human ones too, unless it is feeling merciful. LORD offers material wealth in exchange for worship. Perhaps I have vastly misinterpreted it though.
